How My Chattiness May Destroy Worlds ~ Novel Musings

As inspired by Tarot: Should the world about us come to an end, it is within the seeds of a Mother that will make us whole again. Clicktotweet

There are few things that bring me more joy than reading Fantasy books. The first novel I ever read in this genre was The Lord of the Rings, and I've been hooked ever since. Painfully making my way through other types of categories, I'm always over-the-moon so to speak when I get to read something fantastical, with multiple worlds, beings and lots and lots of magic.

Ultimately, my goal as an author is to someday bring a new world to life. Unheard of heros, lands and existential crisis'... and of course, lots and lots of magic (keep Panthegrah in the back of your mind so you can someday say, I read her blog when she was still a nobody, lol). So every time I get my hands on a new fantasy story, I engulf each page with two sets of eyes: that of someone who loves wizards and warlocks, and that of a storyteller-in-progress, absorbing, learning and asking myself ~ how would I have written this.

I just finished devouring MYST The Book of Ti'Ana by Rand Miller w/ David Wingrove. As I continue to work my way through reading all the books on my shelf, I was glad when the #ministarlite chose this particular one which was given to me about 15 years ago. After 'accidentally' losing one of the worst books I have ever read (it was non-fiction female sports related - pen in eye), I finally got to open up the pages to the world of D'Ni. It didn't disappoint.

At the end of the story, Ti'Ana (the main character), left me to ponder this ~

If on one of your adventures, you happened to cross the line into a new world, would you:
a) Tell them excitedly about our world
b) Out of protection for 'our people', say nothing

Being of the Wands type personality, I would most likely run my mouth about everything I knew and then some. If my knowledge proved to be the downfall of humankind, I'd have no shame in begging for forgiveness.

I can adjust to my environment within minutes. Why? Because I talk a lot. I ask a lot of questions. This allows me to immediately connect my 'present' with my 'past' so that I can figure out what my 'future' is going to be like. Even if I'm completely wrong about my future, in my minds eye, I've got it all figured out. I can set my boundaries and move on from there. If I feel like I know what my situation is about, I'm ready to roll with the punches, big or small. I like to eliminate fear as quickly as possible, even if it leaves me with a black eye.

Now consider this; the sharing of planet earth's knowledge may have no effect on our world, but it could destroy the world you just walked in on. Imagine. The translation of your tales, and the patriotism of what you call home has the potential to destroy what may be thousands of years old. Yah. I think a stoning on my behalf would be well deserved.

Bottom line, my chattiness has always gotten me in trouble. Should I happen on 'another world', for our sake, and theirs… I'll keep my mouth shut. Well, I'll try.

Two Must Have DIY Muscle Recovery Ingredients

Let's face it, the first #MagicMonday of the year leaves many of us with unusable muscles for the duration of the week which is why I'm keeping this post short and sweet.

Epsom Salts and a Hot Bath.

Keep the water as hot as you can handle and fill the tub with as much or as little of the tiny crystal muscle relaxing miracles as you want. Enjoy.

P.S I love the Vanilla Scented Life Brand Salts from Shoppers Drug Mart. I'm just not sure I would use the entire 454g in one sitting as recommended on the package. My aching sore muscle want to sink into the hot water, not float on it.
